Expand your mind and your horizons with this intensive advanced acting course led by critically acclaimed theatre director Jo McInnes. Places are very limited and aimed at those who have already completed training and are looking to advance their skills, and for mid-career actors.

Over 3 evenings and 2 full days, a small group of participants will work with Jo to develop skills in:
– understanding and interpreting text
– audition techniques
– voice work

Jo McInnes

Jo is Associate Director of Hackney Showroom. Her recent directing credits include:  Short Plays by Liz Kuti, Hampton Court Palace, 2016; Valhalla by Paul Murphy, Theatre 5o3, 2015, 36 Phone Calls by Jeremy Brock, Hampstead Theatre, 2015; Another Place by DC Moore, Theatre Royal Plymouth, 2014; I Can Hear You by EV Crowe & This Is Not An Exit by Abi Zakarian, RSC Stratford 7 Royal Court; Carpe Diem by Ella Thomson, National Theatre 2013, Running on Empty by Probe, Soho Theatre, 2013; Vera, Vera, Vera by Hayley Squires, Royal Court, 2012.

Jo is currently working on a film version of her acclaimed production of 36 Phone Calls with On The Corner and an operatic version of Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis with the composer Philip Venables. Jo has also worked extensively as an actor.
