Following a sold out run at Village Underground, London in 2009 and award-winning presentation at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Clod Ensemble are reviving their “astonishing and unforgettable” (The Scotsman) production Under Glass, originally commissioned by Sadler’s Wells.
At once medical laboratory, museum exhibit and gallery, Under Glass is a promenade performance with performers all within glass containers. This dream-like walk takes characters out of their everyday life and frames their moments of solitude; examining human beings attempting, with varying success, to live within their limits.
Building on Clod Ensemble’s reputation for work that defies traditional categories, Under Glass blends visual imagery, choreography and theatre with an original score to create a haunting exhibition of human life.
