EDINBURGH PREVIEW
Eastbourne, 1987. Welcome to an un-typical Saturday night at married couple, Syd and Sylvia’s Working Men’s Club.
Bastardised karaoke lyrics, cheesy keyboard playing and bad jokes sit alongside harrowing anecdotes of misogyny and sexual assault in this one-woman drag show about control, expectation, and the crap that women face every day.
Claudia Jefferies is a Theatre Maker and Performer who combines character acting, live art and new writing to make politicised solo theatre shows. Her work is feminist and concerned with gender as performance, seeking to take overlooked, over-tolerated examples of everyday hideousness and expose them with gaudy theatrical splendour.
“…a performer with a throbbing, roof raising energy.” Fringe Guru on Jewel, 2013
