A week-long half-term creative project for young artists aged 5-11 exploring nature, memory and landscapes through Art, DIY Shadow Theatre and Gigantic Sculptures.
Are you curious about the amazing stories that our older neighbours might have to share? They have lived loooooooooong lives! Let’s explore together their memories and stories and see where it takes us…
Mixing art, drawing and collage with drama and storytelling, Gentleness of a Little Giant is a creative week crammed with arty fun, culminating in some home-made shadow theatre storytelling and large-scale landscape sculptures. It will develop your inspiring ideas about the unique ways you see the world and your community around you.
To sign-up, you must be able to attend all 5 sessions Monday – Friday 10am – 1.30pm. Lunch is included. The Tuesday session will be an off-site nature exploration with picnic.
There is an option to come back to share your art work at the Kings Crescent Family Fun Morning on Saturday 30 October at 12pm.
The project is delivered by Brazilian artist Gustavo Ciriaco (Lisbon, Portugal) with local artist/Kings Crescent Tenants & Residents Association committee member Andrew Mitchelson and follows on from a Zoom Pilot which took place online during Lockdown in May/June 2020.
